Chambers of Commerce & Industry collaborate with OECS to host Business to Business Trade Mission & Mixer

The St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with the French Chamber of Commerce is collaborating with the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), the Grenada Ministry of Trade, the St. Lucia Trade Export Promotion Agency (TEPA) and the Caribbean ExportDevelopment Agency (CEDA) to host a “Trade Mission Business to Business (B2B) Matchmaking & Mixer”session.  This event will beheld on Wednesday,October 15th, 2014 at Carl’s Unique Inn in Cole Bay and will target primarily wholesalers and distributers of various products regionally.

As part of the Chamber’s 20/20 Vision: “Home is Where I Prosper” initiative, the goal of this initiative is to reinforce the relationship with the OECS in an effort to promote cooperation, trade and good business relations. Thedelegation consists of mainly manufacturing sector firm representatives and they are seeking matchmaking opportunities with local and regional exporters, importers and business representatives.

One of the important aims of the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce & Industry is to promote greater development of our business community, provide trading and investment opportunities as well as new opportunities for our future St. Maarten business community. The Chamber seeks to further explore St. Maarten’s ports operations; both its airport and seaport to provide Regional Hub and Sub-hub transportation services between the North Eastern Caribbean.  This Trade Business to Business (B2B) Matchmaking Mission and Mixer will enable the business representatives to connect, network and foster business opportunities between St. Maarten/St. Martin and OECS countries. The hope is that these collective promotional efforts will yield great business opportunities for all.

 

OECS is an inter-governmental network of Eastern Caribbean countries which aims to strengthen economic affairs, integration and synchronization amongst its members. The Organisation’s mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of OECS Member States by supporting their strategic position into the global economy. A delegation consisting of sixteen (16) business owners and representatives from OECS countries Grenada, St. Vincent, Dominica, St. Lucia and Antigua will participate in the trade.
