On Tuesday, September 23rd at approximately 10.35 p.m. a police patrol was sent in the vicinity of the Rouge Et Noir casino where a man had arrived and was bleeding profusely from several large wounds to his head and face. On the scene the police and Detectives learnt that the attack took place on the Board Walk in the vicinity of Antoine restaurant. The victim, with initials O.W., works as a security guard for the restaurant at night that for unknown reasons was attacked by an unidentified person or persons. The victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and then transported to the Sint Maarten medical center for further treatment. The Forensic Department was on the scene to collect evidence. The investigating officers later learnt that the victim had lost an eye as a result of this attack. The victim remains in the ICU of the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further medical treatment. The Police Department is asking anyone who may have information that could shed some light on this investigation to call the tip line # 9300 or the police station at 54-22222.
