Kingdom Affairs and Inter-parliamentary Relations Committee Meets on 12 Point Agenda Tuesday

The permanent Committee of Parliament for Kingdom Affairs and Inter-parliamentary Relations will meet on September 16th.
The permanent Committee meeting is set for Tuesday at 10.00am in the General Assembly Chamber of the House at Wilhelmina Straat #1 in Philipsburg.

The committee will handle a 12-point agenda which is related to a number of Kingdom related matters such as an international treaty related to shipping; Arms Treaty; Treaty related to persons with a Handicap; a Kingdom Law draft related to Terrorism and the European Union; and a report from the Dutch Commission of Social Affairs and Labour of the Second Chamber.

 

The committee will also receive a list of treaties that are in the preparatory phase; and Country Sint Maarten’s Foreign Policy Document.

 

There are also two resolutions that were approved on August 18, 2014 with respect to the role of the Kingdom Council of State related to the Kingdom Council of Ministers Integrity instruction to the Governor of Sint Maarten; and the second motion is related to having an independent institution review interpretations of the Constitution of Kingdom when Kingdom partners have a difference of opinion.

 

Three other agenda points are related to a letter from the Curacao political factions in parliament, namely MFK and MAN regarding the Sanctions Ordinance of the European Union; a complaint against the Cabinet of Aruba’s Prime Minister Hon. Mike Eman and the General Audit Chamber Annual report 2013; and copies of two motions adopted by the Parliament of Aruba on September 8th, 2014.
