GOVERNOR STARTS CONSULTATIONS FOLLOWING ELECTIONS

Following the Parliamentary elections of August 29th, 2014, His Excellency Governor Eugene B. Holiday decided to start consultations regarding the formation of a new government. It is noted that the current government has not tendered its resignation to the Governor. The purpose of the consultations is to promote a smooth transition towards the appointment and installation of a new council of ministers taking into account the results of the elections. The consultations will commence on Monday, September 1st, 2014 with the leaders of the four (4) political parties – UPP, NA, DP and US – who won seats in Parliament, the Vice-Chairperson of the Advisory Council, the Ombudsman and the President of Parliament.
