Opening of the CN EXPO
Julian Woodley, Acting Kingdom Representative
June 12th, 2014
The Hague

Ladies and Gentleman,
Thank you for accepting the invitation to this opening of the CN EXPO, This is THE Place, here in the Atrium of the Ministries of Home Affairs & Kingdom Relations and Security and Justice. It is good to see so many familiar faces.
My face is not familiar for everyone present here. Until September 1st I am the acting Kingdom Representative for the three islands (Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba). It is with great pleasure that I will open this photo exposition, named “This is THE Place” today.
What makes this EXPO so special and unique is that the images were taken through the eyes of island inhabitants from all walks of life. Most important is that they reflect the natural beauty, tranquility and vibrancy of life in the Caribbean Netherlands on a whole. This CN Expo was officially opened on all three islands at the same time by King Willem Alexander during the Royal visit to the Caribean Netherlands. On each island inhabitants and visitors were able to enjoy the CN EXPO during one month. It is now half a year later and I am glad to do the official opening here in the European part of The Netherlands. I have no doubt that everyone will enjoy this exposition.
I would like to thank the people of the various ministries, who already exhibited images of the islands on the walls in their meeting spaces, corridors, reception and other public areas. It gives a me a warm feeling each time I visit these offices.
The total collection of photos in the CN EXPO database includes some 1400 images, of which you will now see a selection in a PowerPoint presentation. If you would like to make use of any of these images to beautify the interior of the various Central Government offices here in The Hague, do not hesitate to make your wishes known to RCN Communication.
In the coming five weeks those who have the pleasure of working here as well as visitors, will be able to visit this exposition. Hopefully some of you may even consider visiting the three beautiful islands of the Caribbean. Once again, thank you and do enjoy this beautiful exposition.
