Island Gems Charity Foundation presented a cheque for US $300 to Rotary Club St. Maarten Sunrise for its Peace Monument project. The monument, placed in front of Philipsburg Jubilee Library, will be unveiled by the club with a peace walk and ceremony on Saturday. Island Gems do not usually give financial support to service clubs, but an exception was made for this project based on its theme and the location of the monument – the library, a place where countless adults and children visit in the pursuit of knowledge, peace and tranquility.
