Sandy Ground Mariners stopped Dutch Quarter Indians in a 11 – 4 victory

On Saturday the 2014 Pony League Youth Baseball competition continued at the Dutch Quarter when in the Mustang Division the Sandy Ground Mariners faced the Dutch Quarter Indians and stopped them in their tracks with a score of 11 – 4. The game started with Dutch Quarter Indians dominating Sandy Ground in their first while they scored three big runs to take the early lead of the game. The lead came when batters Tangy Morales, Davidson Desnoy and Robert Gaston all three connected hits and crossed the plate. In the second inning both teams scored one run . In the third Sandy Ground took a 5 -4 lead, product of good batting of Wilner Fatier, Tommy Fleming and Anthony Reyes all these batter connected hits and scored. Andy Pantophlet also scored a run for the Mariners. At that time Anthony Reyes took the mound and dominated the team of Dutch Quarter Indians batters for the rest of the game and for a victory for Sandy Ground Mariners.

The next game will be between the Cul de Sac Padres versus the Dutch Quarter Dodgers at the Belvedere Ball Park.
