Dutch Quarter Indians wins Cole Bay Pirates but Dutch Quarter Dodgers struggled against I CAN Braves

On Saturday the 2014 Pony League Youth Baseball competition continued when in the Mustang Division Dutch Quarter Indians faced the Cole Bay Pirates and in the Pony Division the Dutch Quarter Dodgers went up against the I CAN Braves.

 

In the first game between the Indians and the Pirates the Indians had a easy time taking on the Pirates. They won the Cole Bay Pirates 12 – 2 . The second game was a struggle from both sides. It all started when at the very beginning of the game the I CAN Braves gave the Dodgers a surprise of their lifes by scoring four runs in the first inning. This all was product of good batting of Stevon Prince , Ray Karel and Rashann Isaac who connected a double and was batted in with another double from Victor Lennard. In their turn at bat the Dodgers came from behind to score five runs. In the second inning the Braves of I CAN scored another two runs . Dutch Quarter Dodgers not only tied the game but went ahead 12 – 6 and started to feel very comfortable. But the boys from I CAN, being brave players as their name says manage to bounce back and tie the game and leaving the team and fans of Dutch Quarter totally stunned. Among the fans was Lady Luck herself Miss. Debby who was present to support her team, I CAN Braves. The game continued inning after inning with a tie until in the seventh inning when Dutch Quarter’s Enrique Gumbs scored the winning run for the Dutch Quarter Dodgers.
