UP Leader Theo Heyliger preparing to meet new 2014 election requirements

Leader of the United People’s (UP) Party on Monday along with party stalwarts Joe Richardson, Brenda Meyers-Wathey, Franklin Meyers, and Al Wathey visited the Civil Law Notary Office of Francis E. Gijsbertha where the articles of incorporation of the UP Party as an association were signed off in the presence of Civil Law Notary M.F. Mingo allowing the party to comply with the new electoral law of the country.

The 2014 second parliamentary elections for country Sint Maarten will be under a new set of rules and requirements that every political party participating in the polls will have to meet. The Electoral Council members were appointed on January 7, 2014 by His Excellency the Governor via national decree.
