Two arrested for drugs and weapon possession

On Thursday January 23rd 2014 at approximately 10.45 a.m. during a routine control by a unit of the Intervention Team two persons were arrested for the possession of marihuana and a fire arm. The control took place on the Carrot road in South Reward when the police spotted a suspicious gray jeep driving on that road. The driver of the jeep was ordered to stop. The jeep was approached by the officers when they smelled the strong scent of marihuana. The occupants of the vehicle were ordered to exit the vehicle, which they did. With permission of the driver (33), the car was searched, at which time several small plastic bags containing an amount of marihuana were found. Both suspects were arrested on the spot. As the investigation continued and the suspects were searched, a fully loaded .38 Baretta pistol was found on the 19 year old passenger who is a student at the Milton Peters College. The drugs and fire arm were both confiscated. Suspects, the drugs and weapon were taken to the Police Head Quarters and handed over to the Detective Department who will continue with this investigation.
