KLM 747 aircraft damages parked vehicles

On Tuesday, at approximately 1.15 p.m. the Central Police Dispatch received a call informing them that a KLM flight had just landed at the Princess Juliana International Airport and while making a left turn, in the vicinity of Mary’s Boone and Karakter Beach Bar, to head towards the main building, blew out several windshields and windows of at least seventeen cars parked in the area.

This damage was caused due to the pressure coming from the engines of the aircraft. No one was hurt during the incident. There was safety glass all over the parking area. The airport authorities were immediately informed of the situation and sent out their inspectors to investigate the matter. The matter will be settled between the airport authorities and KLM.
