The President of Parliament Hon. Gracita Arrindell recently donated a green carpet that Parliament had utilized during the visit of the King and Queen. Jelmar Shelstra and Azaf Levy from Diamonds International inquired what would happen to the green carpet that was out in front of the House of Parliament, and if the carpet could be donated to them.
Shelstra and Levy know of a playschool in Beacon Hill with 12 children and thought that the aforementioned would be able to make good use of the carpet for the kids to play on while outside.
President Arrindell jumped at the request since she knows it would be very beneficial for the young kids, and thanked Shelstra and Levy for their community-mindedness, the latter two in turn thanked Parliament for donating the carpet.
