The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams joined His Excellency the Governor of St. Maarten Eugene Holiday in opening Marine Base Pointe Blanche on Tuesday afternoon. The Prime Minister and Governor were guided around the base by Detachment Commander Wokke and were given a tour of the facilities. Some twenty Royal Marines are expected to be rotated through the base, assisting in safety and security operations as well as the possible social development project centered on training young people in practical skills.
