Prime Minister Attends Oualichi Women’s Soccer Team One-Year Anniversary

Participates in Celebrity Penalty Shoot-out

The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams attended the One Year Anniversary Event of the Oualichi Women’s Soccer Team at the L.B Scott Sport Auditorium on Saturday.

During the competition the PM also took part in the first ever celebrity penalty shoot-out, where influential women from in the community were pitted against one another in a penalty scoring competition. Other influential women from in the community who participated also included President of Parliament Drs. Gracita Arrindell and Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Patricia Lourens-Phillip.

"I would like to commend the Oualichi Women’s Soccer Team for promoting the sport of women’s soccer on St. Maarten. Congratulations on your achievement and I wish you much more success as you continue to develop the sport for women on the island," commented the Prime Minister.
