Ombudsman give presentation at Police Headquarters

On Monday, October 28th a presentation was given at the Police Headquarters in Philipsburg by the Ombudsman Dr. Nilda Arduin and her staff, Secretary General Patricia Philips and legal advisor Marlon Hart.

This presentation was given on request of the Police Department with the intention to inform its personnel on the workings of the office of the Ombudsman. The one hour presentation was well attended by police officers and administrative workers. During this very informative presentation many issues such as "propriety" were discussed. At the end of the presentation the Dr. Arduin presented the Acting Chief of Police Commissioner Carl John with the Year Report 2012, which illustrates the reports that were filed at the Office of the Ombudsman regarding the police. The Management will definitely take this report into account and deal with those situations. The police wants to show transparency, be protective and generous, no misuse or abuse of power and to be polite, have good manners and most of all show professionalism. Dr. Arduin promised to give a follow-up presentation in the near future.
