The St. Maarten Soccer Educational Foundation (SMSEF) and Sint Maarten’s very own women’s soccer team FC Soualiga will be hosting its first International Women’s Soccer Tournament at the Johan Cruyff Court in Belvedere on October 19th and 20th 2013.
Five teams from all across the Caribbean region have confirmed to participate, thereby stimulating the role of women in sports, the importance of the sport of soccer in the region, as well as establishing a great sports tourism opportunity for Sint Maarten and its establishments.
FC Soualiga and its tournament has gained the support from many local businesses and entities, providing the visiting teams with accommodation, local travel, dining and shopping opportunities as well as many more fun activities to be enjoyed during their stay on the Friendly Island.
FC Soualiga hereby invites the public to come out and support the team and enjoy the sports entertainment during this tournament. The games, taking place at the Johan Cruyff Court in Belvedere, will be played from 10 am till 4 pm on Saturday and from 10 am till 1 pm on Sunday.
SMSEF and FC Soualiga would like to thank everyone who has thus far contributed to and supported the International Women’s Soccer Tournament. Both organizations look forward to continued enthusiasm and support for women’s soccer on Sint Maarten and in the region.
