The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams congratulated the people of Aruba and the Arubaanse Volkspartij (AVP) and incumbent Prime Minister Mike Eman on winning the 2013 General Election on the 27th of September.
"I would like to congratulate the people of Aruba and Prime Minister Eman and his party for exercising the democratic right in the General Elections last week. I look forward to a continued close working relationship with Mr. Eman’s cabinet for the coming years," commented the Prime Minister.
The AVP won 13 seats in the Estates of Aruba, with the People’s Electoral Movement (MEP) finishing second with seven seats, according to preliminary results from Aruba’s government elections office.
The AVP received a total of 33,213 votes, according to preliminary results.
