The Minister Plenipotentiary of St. Maarten the Hon. Mathias Voges and his Cabinet received a courtesy visit last Saturday from Minister of Tourism & Economic Affairs the Hon. Ted Richardson and members of his Cabinet.
The meeting focused on strengthening the working relations between the Cabinets. One of the items discussed were the areas in which the Cabinet of the Minister Plenipotentiary could facilitate the Ministry of Tourism & Economic Affairs.
The Cabinet being located in The Hague has been busy developing a vast network in the Netherlands and in Europe which all Ministries on St. Maarten can make use of.
Discussions were also held on the developments with respect to the upcoming 11th European Development Fund and the draft European Union (EU) Overseas Association Decision (OAD) that will go into effect on January 1st 2014. The opportunities these changes bring along with them were discussed in great detail.
