Preparations underway for October trainings at Sint Maarten Justice Academy

Preparations are well underway by Sint Maarten Justice Academy management and staff for an October training session for members of either the Ministry of Justice or other departments that fall under the six other Ministries of Government.

The Sint Maarten Justice Academy recently marked its first anniversary with a graduation ceremony of cadets from different services within the Ministry of Justice and other Ministries.

A total of 25 persons graduated. The objective of the program is to authorize different stakeholders via trainings in different aspects of the law, to be able to carry out ordinances more effectively without restraint due to the lack of skills and expertise in law enforcement capabilities.

The course for judicial officers was for a four-month period while courses for other uniformed groups such as Customs, Immigration, Prison was for a period of one-year.

Minister of Justice Hon. Dennis Richardson offers his congratulations to all participants.
