Prime Minister Receives Courtesy Visit from Rotary International Caribbean District Governor Jeremy

PM Calls for Continued Cooperation between Private Sector, Service Clubs and Government

The Prime Minister and members of her Cabinet received a courtesy visit from Rotary Club District Governor Mr. Jeremy Hurst and representatives of the local Rotary Clubs on Wednesday morning.

 

District Governor Hurst highlighted the fact that he had an excellent welcome and was exceptionally received on St. Maarten.

 

Mr. Hurst is the District Governor for district 7020, which is the general Caribbean Region. Explained the 535 districts across the world with more than a million Rotarians offering their service to the communities in which they live.

"I cannot highlight enough the importance that service clubs such as Rotary International plays. Together with Government we continuously strive to work with various organizations, including Rotary, to improve the wider community of St. Maarten.

At the end of the presentation Mr. Hurst pinned the Prime Minister with her honorary Rotary Pin to distinguish her as an honorary Rotarian. The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams expressed her great appreciation and gratitude and wished continued cooperation between the Private Sector, Service Clubs and Government.

The Prime Minister was awarded the title as Honorary Rotarian during the Change of Board Dinner at Infinity Restaurant in Oyster Bay on Saturday, June 8th.
