Victim trapped in vehicle during accident

On Sunday, August 25th 2013 at approximately 11.35 a.m. Ambulance Department, Fire Department and Police Department were directed to the Walter Nisbeth (Pond fill road) for a serious traffic between private vehicle with license plate P-7763 and a bus with license plate P-6757. 

The driver of the private vehicle remained trapped in the vehicle after the collision.

The Fire Department had used their heavy equipment to cut parts from the mangled vehicle in order for the victim to be removed by the paramedics. The victim with initials S.S. complained of pain in her chest, neck and left side of her body. After being removed from the wreckage she was transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. On the scene the police and paramedics were assisted by the Dutch military officers presently on the island conducting trainings for the hurricane season. This case is still under investigation by the police traffic department.
