Man arrested for weapons possession

On Sunday August 25th at approximately 02.15 a.m. during a routine patrol, a Philipsburg police patrol saw a blue Kia Picanto parked in the parking lot opposite the entrance of the Belair Hotel.

 

One of the doors of this vehicle was wide open. While checking this vehicle the driver with initials K.K.D. (24) from Jamaica was found sleeping in the driver seat of the vehicle. He was awakened by the patrol after they saw several bags on the backseat of the car. The driver could not give an acceptable statement in regard to the content of bags. During a search of one of these bags two pistols and a revolver were found. As the patrol continued their investigation in the car another revolver and ammunition were found. The driver of this vehicle was arrested on the spot for weapon possession. The vehicle was confiscated for further investigation. The suspect is held for questioning by the Detective Department.
