Dream Book for the King Published

The Inauguration of His Majesty King Willem Alexander took place on April 30th in Amsterdam, The National Committee Inauguration had the task of coordinating the celebrations around the inauguration. One of the outcomes of the Inauguration celebration is the Dream Book.

His Majesty King Willem Alexander requested the National Committee Inauguration to have citizens of the Kingdom share their dream for their country as an inspiration to him and all citizens within the Kingdom. On St. Maarten the Organizing Committee Inauguration requested persons to submit their dreams with the hope of being selected to be part of the Dream Book. The OCI took the opportunity to also submit a dream.

From over 5600 submitted dreams a jury of sixteen well known Dutch persons chose 300, amazing and inspiring dreams. The submission of the OCI was selected to be published in the book. Below is the text that was submitted to the jury of sixteen.

"Our dream is That the Dutch acknowledge the full school curriculum in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. That educators and writers will be assigned to write about our history, culture and people which will be taught in primary and secondary schools throughout the Kingdom. Our history, culture and people not only include the Dutch history and culture, but also include that of the Countries of the Kingdom: St. Maarten, Curacao and Aruba, as well as the Dutch Caribbean BES islands Bonaire, Saba and St. Eustatius. In order to share a dream and a vision, knowledge of our partners is pertinent to the Netherlands. . Through teaching our youth, a nation will be taught. "

Those selections chosen led to the publishing of the book "My dream for our country, inspiration for the King". The book will also contain a number of photos of the Inauguration Ceremony April 30th 2013.
