Prime Minister Wescot-Williams Receives Credentials from UN Rep Blewitt

UN Rep Commends Prime Minister During Private Audience

The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams met with regional UN Representative Richard Blewitt at her Cabinet on Wednesday Morning. Mr. Blewitt is the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator and UN Development Program Resident Representative for Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten.

 

During the half hour meeting Mr. Blewitt presented his credentials to the Prime Minister Hon. Sarah Wescot-Williams and stated, "it was a great pleasure to meet a Prime Minister that has done such considerable work for the development of the country."

Richard Blewitt was appointed to as the United Nations Regional Coordinator in April 2013. Prior to his appointment, he was Chief Executive Officer of HelpAge International for six years and has also held several key posts with various humanitarian agencies such as the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent; the British Red Cross Society; UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs; and the Save the Children Fund.
