TelEm Group were the proud recipients of the Under-13 Soualiga Mini-Youth Basketball Association sub-champions trophy during a handing over ceremony at the company main office, Pond Island Wednesday.
The trophy was presented by the coach and some of the players of Robby’s Stars to TelEm Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Brian Mingo as a "Thank You" for sponsoring the team for the past two years.
Coach Robby Pantophlet said he could not have been more proud of his lads, who went all the way to the fifth game in the best-of five tournament finals during the end of June. Robby’s Stars came up just short, losing to Champions Junior Cats for the second year running, but this time by only a three-point margin.
"The team was outstanding and the parents were very supportive all along," said Robby.
"We came to present the trophy to TelEm Group and to thank them for being our sponsor and having confidence in us," continued the coach. He also presented the company with a team photo for their archives.
Mr. Mingo congratulated the youths on their achievement and said their trophy and team photo will find a proud place amongst the many trophies the company has collected over the years.
He wished the team and coach much success for the future and pledged continued support for Robby’s Stars as they seek to win the coveted Junior Championship trophy next year.
