President Arrindell congratulates local teens Colas and Richardson on recognition of talent

President of Parliament Hon. Gracita Arrindell would like to congratulate local teens David Colas and Chantal Richardson who have been recognized by Soca Awards 2013 for their musical talent.

The two are among finalists for Caribbean Pop/Rap/Hip-Hop Song of the Year.

Colas and Richardson are graduates of Milton Peters College. They were able to write a song together titled "Let You Know."

Anyone who wants to support "Let You Know" in the contest can visit the official website: www.socaawards.com/vote.html Their nomination is in Category 31. The two young artist hopes to get enough votes to win the contest.

"I was very pleased to read that another group of young people are doing well and reaching for the stars. The music branch is not easy as they contested in a newspaper article on Monday while they were working on writing and producing their song with third parties.

"Connecting talented and disciplined young artist with the right attitude, with international producers and talent hunters, goes a long way in helping young artists to breakthrough internationally.

"I would like to wish Colas and Richardson much success and I call on the country to support these two young people by visiting the Soca Awards website and voting for them.

"When we see our young people progress we must support them when they ask for our support. This support from the community goes a long way and gives them a boost with respect to their further endeavours," President of Parliament Hon. Gracita Arrindell said on Monday.
