Prime Minister Wescot-Williams Congratulates Little League Teams at End of Competition

Commends St. Maarten Team for Playing Excellently and for Inspiring National Pride

The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams congratulated all participating teams and attendants who participated in the weeklong 2013 Latin America Little League Championship Competition over the last few weeks.  

The Prime Minister stated that, although there were some challenges with regards to the weather, that the general consensus was that the championship was an excellent one. The Prime Minister congratulated Panama, who players were able to bring home the Championship Trophy after they beat Venezuela 1-0.

The Prime Minister especially congratulated the St. Maarten Little League Players, whom showed much strength and dedication during the tournament. "I Especially would like to congratulate our St. Maarten players for playing excellently and for fighting for the title. I understood that sometimes it was a little overwhelming but you played very very well and we are all proud of you. Also to the supporters I would like to say job well done. You have come out in strong numbers to support our local players and that shows not only pride in the team but also pride in your country. And finally to the organizers for putting this competition together I would like to commend you for an excellent job well done," commented the Prime Minister.
