Sunday, July 14, 2013 the Middle Region & Defiance Community Council has organized its’ annual Cleanup campaign, washing down Middle Region & Defiance. This Wash Down will commence at 6.00 am and with the grace of God and your help we should be finish by 4.00pm. Unlike the other years we are asking all the residents to take stock of their immediate surroundings where they live. You are responsible to clean up your yard, in front your house and put all garbage and junk on the road side for the trucks to pick it up. All Waste Management Co. of Mr. James Richardson will be assisting with the cleanup and the large garbage bins will be put at various sites in Defiance and Middle Region from Friday, July 12, 2013.
Those persons who cannot make it on Sunday will now have the opportunity to put out their garbage on Friday or either Saturday. Thanks to the full cooperation of All Waste Management Co. Put your garbage in those bins starting on Friday and Saturday. Don’t wait until the truck passes or the next day to put out your garbage out. Those persons that are living in the various drives, hillside and the back roads we are asking you to bring your garbage to the main road. We are especially appealing to our youngsters the basketball, softball and netball players. We are also inviting any other organizations to participate in this cleanup and dress in your organization t-shirt colors. This is where you live and you now have the opportunity to give back to your community. We must lead by example and not expect others to come in to clean up after us. If you identify an area that needs our fullest attention to be cleaned please let us now well in advance by calling any of the numbers mentioned below. If there are disables that need assistance to put garbage outside, call us to let us know. This Wash Down include the Sint Maarteners, the Haitians, the Dominicans and every other nation that lives in Middle Region and Defiance. Let us show the other communities that we care about where we live. Come out in big numbers. Bring your rakes, shovels, wheelbarrow, gloves and any other tools that you may have to make this a success. If you think the jump up on March 31, 2013 or the Middle Region & Defiance Day celebration on June 23, 2013 was a smash, then you are in for a rude awakening on Sunday, July 14, 2013 for the wash down of Middle Region & Defiance.
