Eight of St. Maarten’s hottest DJ’s will be battling through the semi-finals of the Soggy Sounds DJ Competition at the Soggy Dollar Bar in Simpson Bay, Saturday upcoming
More than 800 music fans turned out to the see the first round of the competition last week and to root for their favourite DJ, among them TelEm Group’s own man on the boards, DJ Chubs – the defending champion.
Organizers expect an even bigger turnout for the next round of the competition, which is sponsored by TelEm Group, Heineken and the Soggy Dollar Bar.
In the opening sets last Saturday, DJ Chicken attracted the largest group of supporters and is making a strong bid for this year’s coveted title.
Of the 17 entered into the contest, eight remain after the first round of eliminations: DJ Chicken, DJ Maestro, DJ Roomz, DJ Chubs, DJ Skillz, DJ Shadow, DJ Manifest, DJ Big Boss.
Saturday’s winners will go on to the Soggy Sounds DJ finals on Saturday July 20th , with the chance to become a resident DJ at the Soggy Dollar Bar along with a cash prize of $2,500. The second placed DJ will take home a prize of $500.
