St. Kitts and Nevis Legislative Majority passes six bills in Parliament

 

Several bills were passed by the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis at Monday’s session of the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly.

With its full parliamentary majority of 8 seated and the absence of seven from the opposition benches in the lawmaking body, the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly on Monday 8th July, approved six bills.

The Finance Administration (Amendment) Bill, The Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, The Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, The Succession to the Crown Bill, The Saint Christopher and Nevis, Brazil and Guyana Partial Scope Agreement Bill, 2013, and The Church of God of Prophecy Saint Christopher Incorporation Bill, 2013 were passed following their introduction and debate.

The Bankruptcy and Insolvency Bill, 2013; The Hire Purchase Bill, 2013; The Immigration (Amendment) Bill, 2013 and The Protection of Employment (Amendment) Bill, 2013 were introduced and given their first reading.

The National Assembly Elections (amendment) Bill, 2013 and The Integrity in Public Life, Bill, 2013 were withdrawn and are to be debated at a later date.
