Port CEO Praises EMS First Responders in EMS Week Message

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the St. Maarten Harbour Group of Companies Mark Mingo congratulates the country’s first responders on their Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week of activities under the banner, ‘EMS, One Mission One Team’.

"The Port of St. Maarten has in the past called on the services of the EMS to provide lifesaving assistance to cruise passengers, and we recognize them for the dedicated efforts to serve the citizens and our visitors," CEO Mark Mingo pointed out on Thursday.

Mingo said he would also like to see large scale calamity exercises carried out on an annual basis in order to further enhance the response and coordination of first responders in the event of an actual disaster.

"We appreciate the importance of EMS service in our community. When an emergency call is made the Ambulance responds to what may be a life-threatening situation. It is only then that many truly value the skills and training of these professionals and understand their relevant role within our community.

"It is great to know that we are being served by a group who are dedicated to providing the highest level of care," CEO Mark Mingo said on Thursday.

The Port of St. Maarten has developed a strategic partnership with the Police Force of St. Maarten and CEO Mingo is also looking forward to developing a similar relationship with the Ambulance Department.
