USM Alumni becomes legal foundation, Johnson first president

The University of St. Martin (USM) added an alumni foundation to its organizational structure on Thursday afternoon. The USM Elite Alumni Foundation was launched at Speetjens Notary office by the official signing of its deed.

President Stuart Johnson said, "A promise made is a promise kept, as we did when I officially legalized USM’s Student Government Association." Johnson signed the official deed in the presence of university official John Zaandam, Manager of Finance and Services as well as USM alumni member Januaira Leonard. The members of the board are: Paula Gordon, Tamara Groeneveldt and Sahcha Eustache. Former USM students are urged to look out for the registration information in regards to the alumni membership, which will be released in a subsequent media announcement.
Johnson said, "this historical milestone is dedicated to USM and our beloved country as we continue to pledge our unconditional support towards higher education." He concluded saying, "I wish to thank everyone who made this opportunity possible and trust the foundation will be embraced by all former students as well as the community itself. Your confidence in me as the alumni’s first president and the other board members surely continues to motivate us."
