Curvin George appointed new director Guardianship Council Caribbean Netherlands

 

Curvin George (37) will be the new director of the Guadianship Council CN. He starts his new position on July 1st 2013 and then takes over the management of the Guardianship Council from de present director, Esher Pourier-Thode, who after working at the Guardian Council for 31 years, will early retire (VUT) .

 

Curvin George – who was born on Bonaire- fulfilled various functions in recent years in the field of (youth) treatment. Since 2010 he worked as Senior Council researcher and he helped to set up and develop the Department of punishment of the Guardianship Council on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. With his experience in the youth services and the judicial chain he has ensured within the Guardianship Council for innovation, in particular regarding the development of the youth rehabilitation.

After his studies "Sociaal Pedagogische Hulpverlening" (Social Work) he has worked at the youth prison and later at the Council for Child Protection in Groningen. In addition he completed a post-graduate study Youth Protection and he trained himself in psychopathology. He currently does an MBA study at the Intercontinental University of the Caribbean.
