Contended Border in Oyster Pond
Caption:The Prime Minister of St. Maarten, joined by her delegation, climbed the Towers at Oyster Bay in order to show Kingdom Minister for Foreign Relations Frans Timmermans the much-contended border between French and Dutch St. Maarten that runs through Oyster Pond. In his comments Minister Timmermans stated that he believed that the border issue is one that needs solving. The Prime Minister gave an explanation on the geography and background of the issue. Accompanying the Prime Minister was acting Secretary General for the Ministry of General Affairs Erno Labega and Acting Head of the department for Foreign Affairs Khalilah Peters.
