Prime Minister Donates to Be The Change Foundation

Caption: The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams presented a personal check to Erika Cannegieter of the Be the Change Foundation in Support of the Art Saves Live program. The Prime Minister, in presenting the check, again commended the organizations and encouraged businesses and individuals to contribute to the Be the Change Foundation as they raise funds for many worthwhile organizations on St. Maarten.

 

Also in support of the Be The Change Foundation, the Prime Minister attended the Foundation’s Fundraising Event and Membership Drive on Sunday evening at the Red Piano Bar.

Be The Change’s mission is to encourage the St. Maarten community to actively contribute to various non-profit organizations and local causes. This will be done by way of igniting a social philanthropic movement, hence making a united effort to change and improve life on the island.

Art Saves Lives Program (ASLP) is a cross-cultural exchange between youth in need and experienced practicing artists who seek to use their talents for positive change. This collaborative project will select renowned artists from around the world who use the arts to introduce participants to global and local traditions and empower them with the life skills necessary to effectively deal with the demands and challenges of everyday life. The project will also provide guidance for young artists with aspirations in pursuing a career
