TelEm Group engineers and personnel from the Technical Department began a three day training in Project Management at the TDC Center in Philipsburg, Monday.
The training is being given by visiting Project Management specialist Ms. Sharon Kjellquist.
During the introductory session to introduce the trainer and the TelEm Group personnel, Chief Technical Director, Mr. Eldert Louisa, explained that this training and other training to follow, is part of the restructuring process that TelEm Group has recently completed.
"With this type of training, you will be well prepared if you are called on to oversee or manage an important project," said Mr. Louisa.
He told the participants that all training is useful and he urged them to take advantage of what is being offered as a useful addition to the knowledge they already possess.
Also attending Monday’s opening session was Manager, Planning and Engineering, Mr. René Visser, and Manager, Human Resources and Development, Mrs. Shadira Lont-Richardson.
Coordinator of the Technical Operations Project Management Training Program, Ms. Marjolein van Engelen, says two groups from Technical Operations will in fact be attending the project management course.
"The participants have been divided into two groups so that there will be continuity with the daily operations of the company," said Marjolein.
She said the first training session began Monday and will continue on Wednesday and Friday of this week while the second training session will begin during the week of May 13.
