The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams met with the Family of Michael and Thelma King at Holland House on Thursday. The family members travelled to St. Maarten to attend the murder trial which have shocked the island.
The Prime Minister had lunch with the family and showed her support on behalf of the people of St. Maarten to the family of the murdered couple. "I was honored and humbled to spend a few hours with the family of Michael and Thelma King and support them in this difficult moment. Despite their loss the family is one that is strong and this is a source of much admiration for me. Numerous Family members have even encouraged friends and family to visit St. Maarten and have issued strong support for the island despite the tragedy which happened. The whole island was shocked at what happened and every single person was relieved to see that the perpetrators of this horrible act were apprehended.," commented Prime Minister Wescot-Williams.
