Over 15,700 cruise passengers visit St. Kitts in two days

Two cruise ships with nearly 7,500 passengers onboard docked at St. Kitts’ Port Zante on Wednesday, bringing the number of cruise passengers to 15,700 over the two day period.

The Independence of the Seas with 4,064 passengers arrived from St. Maarten before leaving late afternoon for San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Arriving from St. Maarten with 3,409 passengers was the Celebrity Reflection, which sailed later for Miami.

On Tuesday, three ships berth at Deep Water Port and Port Zante.

The Adventure of the Seas with 3,574 passengers and the Emerald Princess with 3,059 passengers docked at Port Zante, while the Thomson Dream berth at the Deep Water Port with 1,606 passengers.

Most of the 15,712 cruise passengers came ashore and went on sight-seeing tours to places of interest in Basseterre and island wide via the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, buses or taxis. Hundreds went to Brimstone Hill, sea and sun bathing on the beaches, snorkeling, sailing to Nevis, horseback riding, golfing, casino gambling, shopping and cycling, and motor biking while others took time to surf the internet and make contact with friends and family.
