Prime Minister’s U 2 Can Move Initiative Inspires Civil Servants to Become Zumba Instructors

Assist Others in Achieving Fitness Goals

St. Eustatius also Following PM’s Lead on Fitness and Health for Civil Servants

At last week’s U 2 Can Move Zumba session the Prime Minister congratulated two Civil Servants Sheritsa Stroop and Bernice Richardson for becoming certified Zumba instructors recently. Due to the encouragement of the Prime Minister and from being exposed to Zumba as part of the U 2 Can Move Fitness Initiative the two ladies traveled to Puerto Rico in order to follow the Zumba training workshops that was completed successfully.

The two are now certified Zumba Instructors. "I am proud of both Bernice and Sheritsa for taking their own initiative and becoming certified Zumba instructors. This not only shows that the initiative is catching on, but also that people are being inspired to not only get fit but to help others get fit as well," commented the Prime Minister.

Zumba instructor Patty Pantophlet also went to Curacao last week to attend a session on a new Zumba workout called ZUMBA SENTAO which she will be bringing to St. Maarten in the future. The weekend before she was in Statia assisting the government there with Zumba sessions inspired by Prime Minister Wescot-Williams’ fitness initiative.
