"The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams expressed her condolences to the family and friends of the late Antillean Statesman, Member of the PAR party and former Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles Mr. Miguel Pourier. "I have had the honor of working closely with Mr. Pourier for a number of years and I am saddened to learn of his passing. Mr. Pourier became Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles during a crucial time in all of our history and his contribution to that common history which all of us in the former Netherlands Antilles share is undeniable," commented the Prime Minister. Miguel Arcangel Pourier was born in Rincon, Bonaire on the 29th of September 1938 and passed away on Curaçao after a serious illness on the 23rd of March. He was 74 years old.
