Minister De Weever encourages public to attend Lion’s Wellness Fair

Great Bay, St. Martin (March 22, 2013)-On Saturday, March 23, 2013 the Fifth annual Rudy Hoeve Lion’s Club Wellness Fair will be held at the Festival Village, where the community of St. Maarten is invited to come out for the various screenings and health information. 

Minister of Public Health Social Development & Labor, Cornelius De Weever is encouraging the community of St. Maarten to go out to the Rudy Hoeve Lion’s Club Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, to "Get Checked." "Take advantage of this opportunity and get the necessary screenings done for your cholesterol, blood pressure and more free of charge," said Minister De Weever.

The public will be given the opportunity to do a variety of tests, such as for breast cancer, diabetes, HIV, vaccinations for children, physical exercises and the availability of pharmaceutical information. Stakeholders that will be on hand are as follows: St. Maarten AIDS Foundation; Mental Health Foundation; Diabetes Foundation; Ministry of Health; WIEMS; White & Yellow Cross; NAGICO Insurances; Alpha Health Store; St. Maarten Pensioners Foundation; Art of Living Foundation; Windward Islands Optical; Manrique Capriles; Prime Distributors; St. Maarten Medical Center amongst others.
