Minister Jacobs Opens Rotary Club table Tennis Tournament

Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Hon. Silveria Jacobs opened the Rotary Club Table Tennis Tournament on Saturday March 16th, 2013 at the Sports Auditorium.

Table tennis athletes from St. Maarten under the guidance of coach Radjouki and athletes from Anguilla participated in the tournament. In her address to the athletes the Minister commended the athletes for their hard work and training that has resulted in their participation in the tournament.

"It is good to know that these young athletes will not be negatively exposed, but will be positively highlighted because of their commitment and that of their coaches and the Rotary Club" the Minister said.

Coach Radjouki was congratulated for his tireless effort and dedication to the sport and the youth of St. Maarten. In conclusion Minister Jacobs encouraged the athletes to play their best while observing sportsmanship. "May the best team win."

Minster Jacobs officially opened the tournament by playing a friendly ‘best of three serves’ match which she won.
