Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports the Hon. Silveria Jacobs would like to congratulate the students of the King Yen Tae Kwon Do school and Grand Master Theo Liu and Board on their recent successful participation in the 20th Anniversary International Tae Kwon Do Open Championship which was held in Puerto Rico.
In her address to the delegation prior to their departure the Minister asked the delegation to "Stand tall" and that they did.
As a country St. Maarten should be proud of our kids, once again the King Yen Tae Kwon Do School under the leadership of Grand Master Theo Liu did extremely well in the medals.
In total they came back with 37 medals with the breakdown being: 21 Gold, 13 Silver, and Bronze three.
Minister Jacobs commends organizations such as King Yen and other institutions that help instill discipline, sportsmanship and competitiveness as character builders in our St. Maarten youth.
