Central Committee of Parliament to meet March 11 to prepare for working visit in April

Inauguration of new Monarch

The Central Committee of Parliament will meet on March 11 in connection with a working visit to the Netherlands at the end of April.

The working visit of parliament in April is in connection with the abdication of Queen Beatrix. It is still to be determined how many Members of Parliament (MPs) will be present to attend the inauguration of Willem-Alexander as King.

MPs from different parts of the Kingdom will meet in The Hague where there will be a joint general session of the First and Second Chambers of the Dutch Parliament where MPs will swear their allegiance to the new monarch.

The central committee will meet on Monday at 2.00pm in the General Assembly Chamber of the House at Wilhelmina Straat #1 in Philipsburg.

Members of the public are always welcome to be present in the General Assembly Chamber during public meetings to follow the parliamentary session scheduled for that particular day.

The House of Parliament is located across from the Court House.

The parliamentary session will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 120, via Pearl Radio FM 98.1, the audio via the Internet www.pearlfmradio.com, and also via www.sxmparliament.org.
