The Indian Merchants Association donates to the MPC for Mathematics A-Lympiad

On Friday February 22, 2013 the Indian Merchants Association donated $1000 towards trip expenses for the MPC Mathematics A-Lympiad Team. Four MPC team students will be taking part in the world mathematics Olympiad in the Netherlands.The Mathematics A-Lympiad is a ‘real world" mathematics team competition with open ended assignments.

 

The assignment is developed by the A-lympiad Committee at the University of Utrecht in Dutch and is translated for international participants. Teams from many countries including Germany, Holland, Denmark, Iran and St. Maarten compete. St. Maarten has been participating for the last 13 years and this year the MPC students connected with one of its Alumni Sunny Khatnani who is also on the board of the Indian Merchants’ Association. "The education and future of our children of St. Maarten is one of the priorities of our Association. There was no question of our support" said Khatnani, speaking on behalf of the Indian Merchants Association.
