Residents and stakeholders are invited to a town hall meeting about hillside conservation areas for Thursday, February 21 at 7.00pm. The meeting will take place at the University of St. Martin (USM).
Attendees will be informed about the proposals from the Ministry with respect to zoning of the aforementioned areas.
The Ministry would like to get the public’s views and ideas as it pertains to hillside conservation areas.
The Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Development, Environment and Infrastructure (MinVROMI) is developing the legal framework for possible future development; to designate and/or reserve land for desired use; to prevent uncontrolled development; and to offer legal security to residents about future development.
The meeting is part of process of drafting of "development plans" for country Sint Maarten.
