Despite the stormy weather futsal matches continue as normal in the LB Scott auditorium on Sunday.
The road to the quarter finals started promising for team Ghtetto Boyz in the 2012 futsal competition sponsored by Nagico Insurances NV.
They started the competition with three back to back wins.
Things started to go downhill with a lost against Risc Takers and Paradise Inn. In the final match on Sunday the 14th of October a draw would’ve been sufficient for them to advance to the Super League, whereas MixItalia had to win to advance. At the final whistle MixItalia secured their spot in NSL (Nagico Super League) with a 6-4 win and a chance to win the big prize. Ghetto Boyz still has a chance to win silver in the lower division (NDL). This is once again one more year that they are missing out playing in the higher league.
Flames needed a win against underdog FC Veendam. With a lot of confidence Flames entered the game to realize that the ball is round and can go in any direction. FC. Veendam won the game 4-2. With this result Flames and FC Veendam will play in the NDL (Nagico Division League).
Even with a loss against Nagico Funmakers, United Star still has a chance to advance to the NSL. If Emile Photo, in their upcoming match on Sunday, beat Nagico Fun Makers, Emile will advance to the NSL instead of United Stars otherwise United Stars will be the lucky one to advance.
In the other matches; Caribbean Auto Stars lost from FC Sint Maarten 3-8, in the veteran division team Plotseling beat Emile Photo 7-3.
