St Martin /St Maarten Delegation To Attend WBCQ Event in Florida

A St Martin /St Maarten Delegation is scheduled to attend the WBCQ Event in Jupiter, Florida on September 19th to 23rd. The World Baseball Classic Qualifier is organized by Major League Baseball Inc and MLB Commissioner’s office in New York, USA.


The Delegation Leader is Mr. Mervin Beauperthuy one of the best legendary players ever to play for the National Baseball Team of France. Mr. Beauperthuy will lead the delegation to Ft Lauderdale and onto Jupiter Florida 45 minutes away to Roger Dean Stadium a minor league facility of the Miami Marlins. On September 17th all WBCQ Players with French rights will arrive in Florida to begin orientation and warm up games with Palm Beach State College. In the USA Pool is France, Spain, South Africa and Israel. On Sept 20th France plays Spain in Pool A at 7 PM at Roger Dean Stadium near Palm Beach Florida.

The players on the roster to be finalized on September 10th from St Martin as follows. Rene Leveret, Felix Brown, Marc Ramirez, David Van Heyningen, Migual Hanson, Jean Samer. Pending players reserve list players are Omar Williams-College player. According to team Manager Jim Stoeckel NCAA and MLB has given WBCQ Teams permission to allow College players to participate in WBCQ Event Games. All players listed have recieved official invitations from FFBS French Federation of Baseball & Softball and World Baseball Classic Inc an MLB affiliate who is organizing the games. The winner of this pool will play in 2013 World Baseball Classic event. TV rights and players compensation is all structured by WBC Inc and MLB. St Martin players will have a great opportunity to promote the friendly island via regional televised games and internet broadcast.
