Last Friday afternoon the official distribution of the leagues uniforms took place at the John Cooper Jose` Lake Senior Ball Park. The Island Gem Charity Foundation was kind enough again to comply with the request of the St. Martin Pony League and donated 9 set of 15 baseball uniforms for the different neighborhood teams of the league.
At the ceremony one player of each team exhibited the team uniform for the Island Gem Members whom were more than happy to know that their organization were part of assisting the kids of all the neighborhoods of the island. The uniforms will be distributed among the teams Cul de Sac Padres – Dutch Quarter Dodgers – Cole Bay Pirates – Philipsburg Angels – Sandy Ground Mariners – St. James Yankees – St. Georges Cubs – French Quarter Tigers and I Can Braves. Among the teams the "I can Braves" is the newest addition and consist of kids from the "I Can Foundation" in Dutch Quarter. Once the field in Belvedere is completed the league will be returning to play ball in Belvedere. The League is now also preparing a field in the Dutch Quarter area so that it could starts its competition. Games will be played on Saturdays and Sundays.
