Brutal Jamaica cash in on Super Bonus Points

Georgetown, Guyana – Jamaica and Guyana head the points tables for their respective groups after the first round matches in the Regional Super50 in Guyana.

Jamaica racked up bountiful Super Bonus Points in their thrashing of the Leeward Islands.

The Jamaicans now sit pretty at the top of the table with 8 points. They got 4 points for their win plus 2 Super Bonus Points for bowling out Leewards for under 150 and another 2 Super Bonus Points for overhauling the Leewards score at a rate of over six runs per over.

Guyana totalled 6 points from their victory over the Windward Islands. They got 4 points for the win and 2 Super Bonus Points for bowling out the Windwards for under 150. Windwards were routed for 72 and are in deficit of -2 points at the bottom of the Group A table.

In the new Super50 Points System teams can pick up hefty Super Bonus Points for scoring at over six runs per over and bowling out the opposition for under 150 runs.

Teams which fail to bat out more than 4/5ths of their allotted overs will attract 2 Super Penalties. If a team which bats first bats more than 4/5ths of their overs but do not complete their allotted overs they will incur 1 Penalty Point.

The new points system was designed to give teams an incentive to play more attractive cricket for the enjoyment of players and especially the fans.
